Eating FamilyMart Food in Japan for 24 Hours Under $10 Only

FamilyMart in Japan

Ever wondered if you could eat delicious meals in Japan without breaking your budget? You can, and FamilyMart makes it easy!

I recently ate exclusively at FamilyMart for an entire day, spending a total of ¥1,397 (about $9.80) on food and ¥640 (about $4.40) on drinks, all including tax.

The prices I’ve listed below for each food and drink also include tax. Here’s how you can do it too.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these items before. I’d love to hear your thoughts! 😊

1. Breakfast: 3-Fruit Mix Sandwich and Strawberry Milk

a. 3-Fruit Mix Sandwich – ¥375 (About $2.60)

Sandwiches

I started the day with a 3-Fruit Mix Sandwich.

This sandwich is filled with mascarpone whipped cream and pieces of juicy yellow peach, pineapple, and mandarin orange.

3-Fruit Mix Sandwich

It tastes sweet, refreshing, and lightly creamy, with a hint of cheesecake flavor from the mascarpone.

The bread is soft and moist, making each bite smooth and fluffy.

b. Strawberry Milk – ¥278 (About $1.90)

Strawberry Milk and Melon Milk

To go with the sandwich, I had Strawberry Milk.

FamilyMart’s strawberry milk includes real strawberry chunks, offering tasty bits of fruit in every sip.

The milk itself is creamy, smooth, and thicker than regular milk, almost like drinking a yogurt smoothie.

Strawberry Milk

It’s so delicious that it feels more like a dessert drink. You’ll find it in a convenient 300 ml clear bottle in the refrigerated section.

Just shake it and drink directly from the wide opening, no straw needed.

If strawberry isn’t your preference, FamilyMart also has melon milk with sweet melon chunks or berry milk with a mildly tart mixed-berry flavor.

2. Lunch: Fami-Chiki, Nissin Cup Noodle Curry and Kagome Vitamin Smoothie

a. Fami-Chiki – ¥240 (About $1.70)

Fami-Chiki

For lunch, I went with FamilyMart’s famous Fami-Chiki.

Fami-Chiki is boneless fried chicken and one of the most popular snacks sold at FamilyMart in Japan.

Original Flavor of Fami-Chiki

I chose the original flavor, which is crispy on the outside, juicy, and tender inside, lightly seasoned, and perfect for eating on the go.

FamilyMart also offers green onion with salt flavor and spicy versions if you want to try something different.

b. Nissin Cup Noodle Curry – ¥254 (About $1.80)

Nissin Cup Noodle

Alongside the chicken, I had the Nissin Cup Noodle Curry.

This classic Japanese instant noodle has a thick, mild curry broth with rich vegetable sweetness.

It’s topped with potato chunks, seasoned pork bits, carrots, onions, and green onions.

Preparation is quick, ready in just 3 minutes by adding hot water from FamilyMart’s self-service station.

Nissin Cup Noodle Curry

The noodles are firm, springy, and absorb the flavorful, creamy, slightly sweet curry broth well.

Each topping adds distinct textures, from tender potato and pork to crunchy onions.

The curry flavor here is unique to Japan, richer and deeper than Western versions.

Other popular flavors include original, seafood, and chili tomato, but the curry version remains a standout choice at FamilyMart.

c. Kagome Vitamin Smoothie – ¥192 (About $1.30)

Kagome Smoothie

I finished lunch with the Kagome Vitamin Smoothie.

This smoothie contains fruits and veggies with no added sugar, offering a mildly sweet and refreshing carrot-and-orange flavor.

The texture is smooth and juicy, making it easy to enjoy.

Each bottle provides about 175 grams of vegetables, offering fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making it a delicious and healthy way to refuel.

The 330 ml bottle comes with a resealable cap, perfect for drinking on-the-go.

Other flavors include Green Smoothie (kiwi, banana, spinach, kale), Berry & Pomegranate, and Banana Smoothie.

Tuna and Salmon Sushi Set

For dinner, I enjoyed the Tuna & Salmon Sushi Set.

This option provides an excellent mix of tastes and textures at an affordable price.

b. Strawberry Yogurt Drink – ¥170 (About $1.20)

Strawberry and Blueberry Yogurt Drinks

With my sushi, I paired a Strawberry Yogurt Drink.

This chilled yogurt-based drink is sweet with a mild yogurt tang.

It’s smooth and slightly thick, creamier than milk but more liquid than yogurt, with a perfectly balanced consistency.

You’ll enjoy the chewy bursts of real strawberry bits throughout.

It comes ready-to-drink in a handy cup with a straw.
