I understand your concerns, but don’t worry; you can get all the answers here. I’ll show you how to perfectly organize a 5-day trip to Tokyo for just under $550!

5 Days in Tokyo Itinerary: Budget Breakdown and Map
Based on this itinerary for a 5-day trip to Tokyo, the total travel expenses amount to $525.40, excluding flights.
For day 3, transportation expenses cover the round-trip highway bus from Shinjuku to Mt. Fuji (4,400 yen), Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus (1,700 yen), Fujikko-Go Bus (1,700 yen), and Fujikyu Railway (1,340 yen).
If you have budget constraints, I would suggest choosing either APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower or APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Chuo from the list below.
Highly Recommended Accommodations
- APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower: Located near the JR train station, with a Lawson store and a 7-Eleven close by. Don Quijote, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and Kabukicho are all within a 1 to 2-minute walk.
- APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Chuo: This hotel is only a 1-minute walk away from APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower.
- Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku: The airport limousine bus from Haneda and Narita Airports stops right at the hotel’s lobby. FamilyMart and Lawson are conveniently located just around the corner, and the train station is a short 4-minute walk away.
- JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku: Just a minute’s walk from both Lawson and 7-Eleven, and only two minutes away from Shinjuku Station.
Make sure to read through my daily itinerary below, which outlines the best routes for visiting Tokyo’s attractions without feeling rushed.

Whether you’re a certified Harry Potter fan or not, you can’t miss the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo. This is a tourist attraction that deserves to be a part of your itinerary because of its unique experience.

7:00 PM: Kabukicho
Next in line is the famous Kabukicho. As the keystone of Tokyo’s nightlife, the place is filled with animated stores.
Explore the dazzling district with a series of bars and clubs. Even without doing anything, the pulsating atmosphere is more than enough to energize you.
7:50 PM: Godzilla Head
During your night pursuit, don’t miss the Godzilla Head. You can find this prominent piece nestled atop the Toho Cinema structure.
Take a snap of this acclaimed landmark and tick it off your bucket list.
8:00 PM: Omoide Yokocho
Wrap up your first day with a chill session in Omoide Yokocho. The name of the place translates to Memory Lane, which makes it popular among locals and tourists.
Rewind old Tokyo as you navigate along the cramped pathway. There are a multitude of restaurants within the area, mostly barbecue food stalls selling tasty yakitori.
